Card Factory plc is a retailer of greeting cards and gifts in the United Kingdom founded in Wakefield by Dean Hoyle and his wife Janet. The first store opened in 1997, and by 2020 the company had over 1,000 stores. [ 3 ]
In 2014, a new factory and office complex was opened in Podłęże, near Niepołomice, with an area of 6,650 m2. Currently, the company is preparing to build another ecological factory building [ 2 ] with warehouse space and office and administrative facilities, which is to be taken into service in 2020.

In 1846 Ludwig Heidborn founded a playing card factory which produced cards until 1848 and then again, after a long break, from 1857. In 1848, another playing card factory in Stralsund was started by Gustav Friedrich Diekelmann. This was led from 1850 by Eugen Diekelmann, from 1855 by Theodor Wegener and from 1863 by Fritz Wegener.
