The Four Postmen formed in 1992, and in 1996 signed a development deal with NBC Studios to create a TV show based on their group. The band has performed on NBC's Friday Night Videos, Fox's Futurama, MTV's Undressed, and has composed original music for NBC's Thrillogy Series as well as several independent feature films.

Allan Francis Smethurst (19 November 1927 [1] – 22 December 2000), [2] [3] aka The Singing Postman was an English folk singer [4] and postman.He is best known for his self-penned novelty song "Hev Yew Gotta Loight, Boy?", which earned him an Ivor Novello Award in 1966, “Come Along A Me” and "A Miss from Diss". In 1993 Stotijn and G-Boah (aka Gus Bear) formed the band Postmen. Stotijn is the author of all Postmen songs. In 2004 he married the rock singer Anouk. He has written 2 songs for her album Hotel New York. In 2005 he moved to the U.S. with his wife and their children (they eventually have three). Stotijn and Anouk subsequently divorced in May 2008.
