Gennessee Township is a township in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 458 at the 2000 census. The township includes the city of Atwater. Gennessee Township was organized in 1858, and named after the Genesee River in New York, the home state of a share of the early settlers. [4]
The median age in the city was 37.7 years. 25.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.2% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.4% were from 25 to 44; 28.8% were from 45 to 64; and 14.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 49.2% male and 50.8% female.
