The university was founded on 30 December 1944 by decree of the then King of Romania Michael I. There are three faculties within UMFT: Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. In 2011, UMFT was classified as an education and research university by the Ministry of Education. [3]
Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Romanian: Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie „Carol Davila”) or University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest, commonly known by the abbreviation UMFCD, is a public health sciences university in Bucharest, Romania. It is one of the largest and oldest institutions of its kind in Romania.
The students graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy, have multiple possibilities, such as being the pharmacists in hospital pharmacies, public pharmacies, pharmaceutical warehouses, medical representatives, as well as researchers in pharmaceutical institutions.
