Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Abang Openg (born 4 August 1950), [2] popularly known as Abang Johari or Abang Jo, [3] is a Malaysian politician who has been the sixth and current premier of Sarawak since 2017. Abang Openg was born on 7 October 1905 during the White Rajahs of Brooke dynasty's rule. [2] Abang Openg's first great-grandfather was Datu Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor, the former governor of Sarawak preceding James Brooke's era. Moreover, Abang Openg was the third-generation descendant of Datu Patinggi Ali and a direct descendant of Raja Jarum. [3]
In 2023, the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, agreed to fully allocate the funds for Sarawak to host Sukan Malaysia 2024. [11] Later in November 2023, the Premier announced an allocation of RM 119.35 million for the hosting of the games.

As a result of Taib endorsement, Abang Abu Bakar won the contest, polling 370 votes against the 131 votes by Sulaiman Daud. Besides, 7 vice-president posts and 15 supreme council members were also opened for contests. Abang Johari Tun Openg received the highest number of votes, followed by Wan Wadzihi Wan Madzhar and Bujang Ulis.
