After Switzerland's win in the 2024 contest, the local authorities of Geneva expressed interest in hosting the 2025 edition at Palexpo and submitted a formal application. RAI will organise the Sanremo Music Festival 2025, the 75th edition of the event, between 11 and 15 February 2025. The competition will consist of four shows: two heats on 14 February 2025 and 15 February 2025, a semi-final on 22 February 2025 and a final on 1 March 2025. In each of the two heats, 12 of the 24 competing acts will compete. A maximum of 14 acts will be selected to proceed to the semi-final where nine acts will be selected to proceed to the final.
