Located at 38.98 latitude and 77.25 longitude, the Difficult Run trail is located inside of Great Falls Park. Difficult Run lands in the Virginia side of the park. The trail is 0.7 miles one way making it a 1.4 mile round trip. The scenic trail starts near Georgetown Pike and ends where the difficult run stream meets the Potomac River.

The lake provided a backup water supply for the Childs plant when the flume system above the lake was shut down for maintenance. The lake held enough water to run the plant normally for 3.5 days. [2]

Fossil Creek Bridge is a closed-spandrel deck arch bridge built in the U.S. state of Arizona during 1924–25 on Cottonwood-Camp Verde-Pine road across Fossil Creek.The road, also known as Fossil Creek Road, crosses the creek at a point where it forms the border between Yavapai and Gila counties, and between the Tonto and the Prescott National Forests. The Strawberry Schoolhouse was a one-room structure built in 1882 using the wood from the Pine trees in the area. The school is located on 9318 Fossil Creek Road and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 10, 2005, reference: #05000422. The structure was later used as a meeting place, social center and church.
The road is prone to flash flood by Diamond Creek in monsoon season. This is the only takeout for Grand Canyon boating trips above Lake Mead when the lake is high, however, recently the lake has been lower, allowing the Colorado River to flow all the way past the take out at Pearce Ferry, Lake Mead.
