The Ronald Reagan Federal Building and Courthouse at 411 West Fourth Street in Santa Ana, California, is a ten-story United States federal building and courthouse on 3.94 acres (15,900 m 2) that includes courtrooms, judges chambers, offices and courtroom galleries of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

It was first unofficially named; the Marin County Air Field, Marin Airfield, Marin Meadows Air Field, and the Army Air Base at Marin Meadows. It was officially termed from 1929 until 1932 the "Air Corps Station, San Rafael." [citation needed] With formal development beginning, it was named Hamilton Field on 12 July 1932. [citation needed]
Following passage of 12 Stat. 411, California was apportioned three seats. It retained the third seat following the 1860 census. For four years, the seats were elected at-large statewide on a general ticket. Since 1865, districts were used.
The Canal Area comprises two neighborhoods of San Rafael, California, designated by the city as the "Canal Waterfront" and the "Canal." The Canal Area is bounded on the east by San Francisco Bay, on the north by the San Rafael Canal and on the south and west by Highways 101 and I-580 and by San Quentin Ridge.

The Marin Civic Center arose from a desire to consolidate county services at a single location, away from the center of San Rafael. The idea was combined with a proposed county fairground, and 140 acres (57 ha) of the Scettrini ranch were purchased in 1956 for $551,416 along U.S. Highway 101 near Santa Venetia.
The station is in the Mission Bay/China Basin area, bordered on the north by Townsend Street, east by 4th Street, and south by King Street.
