@ellie555rose To repair the game, open your App game library and select Sims 4 > Manage > Repair. If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.
The game will create a new one, with a new Sims 4 folder inside, if it's able to launch at all. Try running the takeown command on your Documents folder. First, run a Windows search for "Command Prompt," open it, and enter this command: reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
If the game works, set exceptions for TS4_DX9_x64.exe (if you've set Sims 4 to use DirectX 9) and/or TS4_x64.exe (for DX11) as well as EADesktop.exe. Test the game once before restoring any user data as well.
Sims 4 keeps crashing after i played for 1 minute. The game freezes for 1-2 seconds and then crashes. I have repaired the game, done app recovery -> clear cache, reinstalled sims but it still doesn't work. It started yesterday suddenly after playing for a few hours (with one crash), and now i can't play at all because it crashes almost right away.
This is found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. 3) Fix your game in the EA app by navigating to The Sims tile in your Library and selecting the three dots in the top right corner and selecting "Repair". (For Origin: by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.
@FinestCube83131 To test in a clean user folder, move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)
Otherwise, try to launch the game after moving the Sims 4 folder. If it doesn't work, try pausing OneDrive syncing, which you can do by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. If that doesn't help either, and you use a third-party antivirus, disable it, temporarily, and test again.
Do NOT look inside Documents > Electronic Arts. Instead, look within the game's program files, which by default would be in one of these locations: Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4. Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4. Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4
