The pain got a little worse as the day went on and then that night, I remember waking up 5-6 times with foot pain. The next morning, my foot was in severe pain and I couldn't even touch the ground, much less put any weight on it. I had appendicitis a few years ago and I would say the pain in my foot that day was comparable.
No pain under the arch, but an odd feeling of discomfort inside just under and to the front of the ankle. I have been to a podiatrist who said it isn't Tib Posterior, and has padded and taped my foot lifting a hollow behind my toes, and she has prescribed new orthotics. I am not convinced because I still have the same pain. Plain xray shows ...
But there's no pain when I walk or even put pressure on it. Then, this morning, as Im going to put socks on I notice an even bigger splotched area on the entire left side of that same big toe. It looks as if someone colored my toe with a maroon marker.! No pain, but I'm kind of worried.. The other 'bruises' still haven't gone away, either.

So I went to see a foot surgean he recommended a mid-foot fusion for what he referred to as the worst lis franc fracture he has seen. I was on pain medication throughout all of this. I had the mid-foot fusion and received 13 screws in the top of my foot joining all 5 toes to the joints but also joining bone to bone.
I broke the 5th metatarsal in my right foot beginning November 2010. It has just "healed"up (the break is still clearly visible but filled in and the specialist reckons that is healed). Problem is that I very soon after the break started to feel the numbness on the top of my foot and if I touch it, it feels dead and my big toe tingles.
I can't walk on my left foot without intense pain in the top of my foot. It came on over a few weeks, ignored it because every time I rested, it got better. Eventually after 20 minutes of netball I couldn't walk. The pain was very localised near my 2nd/3rd metatarsal. No bruising or swelling, my foot looks completely normal.
a 6 foot long 4" x 4" fell across the top of my foot last monday. the pain and swelling have gone down and it only hurts at the top. I can do "toe pushups" without pain and walk with a "tennis shoe" (loose at the top. I have treated it with cold and hot immursion and some rest. Anything else i can do to reduce the swelling and redness???
I'm trying to find info about what sort of foot injury causes a hard bump. Usually if I get hurt somewhere the bump is soft or bruised but this bump seems hard. I injured the top of my foot 4 days ago while rollerskating. (A wild kid tripped me!) The hard bump appears/feels like it is between my 1st and 2nd metatarsal, judging from diagrams I ...
Its now 7 days , and I've been able to ride my mountain bike a couple of times without pain ( day 6 & 7) in the last 2 days, except when trying to unclip my foot ( have to do that by hand) . I've also been able to walk around a little without pain in the boot today , and also not too bad walking slowly in bare feet.
