Erie County was established on March 12, 1800, from part of Allegheny County, which absorbed the lands of the disputed Erie Triangle in 1792. Prior to 1792, the region was claimed by both New York and Pennsylvania and so no county demarcations were made until the federal government intervened.

Sterrettania is a populated place located in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is in Fairview and McKean townships, in the valley of Elk Creek , a short tributary of Lake Erie . Sterrettania is an unincorporated community on Pennsylvania Route 832.
PA 426 southbound in Spring Creek. PA 426 begins at an intersection with PA 27 west of Pittsfield and north of Garland in Pittsfield Township. The route heads northwest through rural Warren County, intersecting Old PA 77 (also formerly known as PA 277) at Spring Creek on its way to the Erie County line and the city of Corry beyond.
Concord Township occupies the southeastern corner of Erie County. It is bordered to the east by Warren County and to the south by Crawford County.According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 33.2 square miles (85.9 km 2), of which 33.1 square miles (85.7 km 2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km 2), or 0.21%, is water.
