The railroad operates passenger excursion trains using GVRR 2248, 4-6-0, (CLW 1896) steam locomotive and GVRR 2199 to pull its 1920s-era Victorian coaches. Since early 2016, GVRR 2248 has been out of service for overhaul. Two additional diesel locomotives, GVRR 2014 and GVRR 2016 are also used.

Chesapeake and Ohio 614 is a class "J-3-A" 4-8-4 "Greenbrier" (Northern) type steam locomotive built in June 1948 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (C&O) as a member of the J-3-A class.
No. 1218 is the sole survivor of the Norfolk and Western's class A locomotives and the only surviving 2-6-6-4 steam locomotive in the world. While smaller than Union Pacific's famous and more numerous "Challenger" class of 4-6-6-4 locomotives, Norfolk and Western's design racked up unmatched records of performance in service.
