In 1944 his title was changed to Director of Placement and Senior Counselor in 1950. He attended Indiana University before earning his degree from Ball State where he did additional graduate work. Upon his retirement from Ball State in December 1956, Clevenger carried the title of emeritus Director of Placement. He died the summer of 1967.
