St. Louis Lions was an American soccer team based in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Founded in 2006, the team played in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The team played its home games at the Tony Glavin Soccer Complex in Cottleville, Missouri, since 2006. The team's colors were green and white.
After six seasons (2015-2020), Saint Louis FC disbanded after the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns and to make way for St. Louis City SC of Major League Soccer. [3] Starting in 2021 the club fielded a team in USL League Two which finished 3rd in the Heartland division with a 6-4-2 record and did not qualify for the playoffs. [4]
Dillinger was named the head women's soccer coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on December 19, 2013. [18] Dillinger joined former Indiana Hoosier and men's coach Dan King. [ 19 ] Dillinger's first Triton win was a 3-0 victory over Waldorf College at Don Dallas Stadium on September 5, 2014.
He also coached the Parkway South High School boys' and girls' soccer teams from 1995 to 2016, accumulating more than 350 wins and 60 ties with both teams. McBride attended St. Louis University from 1963 to 1967 where he played for the school's NCAA soccer team, known as the Billikens. He was selected a first-team All-American in 1964 and 1965. After graduating in 1967, he was the first American-born player drafted by the Saint Louis Stars of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL).
In 2021, he was again named A-10 first-team All-Conference, as well as United Soccer Coaches second-team All-Region, and Most Outstanding Player of the A-10 Championship. [ 3 ] While at college, Schulte also played in the USL League Two , making nine regular season appearances for St. Louis Scott Gallagher during the 2021 season.
