You may continue to submit business entity filings through SOSDirect and SOSUpload for the foreseeable future. For UCC-related services, such as submitting filings, searches, and orders, you may continue to use SOSDirect until they transition to SOSPortal in late 2024.
The Secretary of State's Elections Division provides assistance and advice to election officials on the proper conduct of elections. This includes hosting seminars and elections schools, providing calendars, ballot certification, primary election funding, and legal interpretations of election laws to election officials.
The Section also provides records information by telephone and email and provides plain and certified copies upon request. Although the Section continues to accept documents by fax and mail, an increasing number of documents are received through electronic submission on SOSDirect.

About the Office. The Secretary of State is one of six state officials named by the Texas Constitution to form the Executive Department of the State. The Secretary is appointed by the Governor, with confirmation by the Senate, and serves at the pleasure of the Governor.
