Sunshine Mountain is the highest point of the American Flats Wilderness Study Area. [1] [2] Precipitation runoff from the mountain drains into Henson Creek which is part of the Gunnison River watershed. [4] Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises 3,500 feet (1,100 meters) above Henson Creek in two miles (3.2 km).
Allenspark is a park in the geographical sense—it is a high meadow surrounded by mountains. While it was first visited by Native Americans and later by trappers, Allen's Park—now spelled Allenspark—got its name from a miner who built the first cabin in the area.

Mount Meeker is a high mountain summit of the Twin Peaks Massif in the northern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America.The 13,916-foot (4,242 m) thirteener is located in the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness, 4.8 miles (7.7 km) west by north (bearing 285°) of the community of Allenspark in Boulder County, Colorado, United States.
