All a Bir-r-r-d is a 1950 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. [2] It was written by Tedd Pierce and directed by Isadore "Friz" Freleng. The short was released on June 24, 1950, and stars Tweety, Sylvester and an unnamed bulldog, who would later become known as Hector.
Sylvester attempts to catch and eat Tweety and very nearly succeeds, only to be stopped by an erudite, mild-mannered cat (retroactively named Clarence in 1981's The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie and modern Looney Tunes comics), who explains that Sylvester's constant cravings for birds can only lead to self-destruction, and invites Sylvester to a meeting of "Birds Anonymous" ("B.A."), a ...
The Sylvester-chases-Tweety cycle is continually disrupted by a mouse who is even hungrier and more desperate than Sylvester, the mouse seizing upon the idea of eating Sylvester. Sylvester suggests that Tweety play sailboat, but in a pot where he is attempting to cook him. This is interrupted by the mouse discovering Sylvester and gnawing his tail.
Sylvester wants to catch and eat Tweety, but some major obstacle stands in his way – usually Granny or her bulldog Hector (or occasionally, numerous bulldogs, or another cat who also wants to catch and eat Tweety). Tweety says his signature lines "I tawt I taw a puddy tat!" and "I did! I did taw a puddy tat!"

The story opens with Sylvester waiting outside Granny's apartment as she puts Tweety to bed and goes to visit a neighbor. He then sneaks into the apartment and stacks a bunch of furniture to reach the bird cage, but the stack collapses and the fall knocks him out long enough for Tweety to escape.
Granny leaves Hector in charge of looking after Tweety while she is away. If he fails to protect Tweety, she will shoot Hector. Sylvester tries to eat Tweety, first by disguising himself as a scarecrow (complete with ragged clothes and tall stilts), then Hector starts barking and an annoyed Sylvester hits him with his wooden leg and yells his only spoken line in the cartoon, "Aaaaah, Shaddap!"
The short was released on July 23, 1949, and stars Tweety and Sylvester. [3] Tweety must evade the titular "puddy tat," Sylvester, who is once again in hot pursuit of Tweety, just so that he can eat him for his own personal snack. It provides an anomaly in the Sylvester & Tweety pairings: In this one, Tweety provides almost all the dialogue ...
