Patrick Joseph "Paddy" McGuinness (born 14 August 1973) is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television and radio presenter. He rose to fame with the help of fellow comedian Peter Kay, who invited him to appear on the television comedy series That Peter Kay Thing (2000), and the sitcoms Phoenix Nights (2000–2001) and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere (2004).
Both stars have previously sat in to host shows for the presenter, who has died at the age of 67.
McGuinness joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1985. His first overseas posting was as Second Secretary in Sana'a from 1988 to 1991. After that, he served as First Secretary in Abu Dhabi from 1994 to 1996, then as Counsellor in Cairo from 1996 to 1999 and in Rome from 2003 to 2006.
Paddy's TV Guide is a British television comedy series created, written and presented by Paddy McGuinness, and broadcast on Channel 4 from 18 January to 8 March 2013. Paddy presents the show from Granada Studios in Manchester, where he guides viewers through the good, bad and ugly world of television, including some TV gold from his archives.
