Stevens Creek is the primary boulevard in West San Jose and the West Valley, running between San Jose's Santana Row, an upscale shopping district, and Westfield Valley Fair, one of the largest shopping malls in the United States. The boulevard is the central artery of two of San Jose's future urban villages: Stevens Creek and Santana Row. [2]
San Jose Assembly was a Ford Motor Company manufacturing site in Northern California, outside of San Jose in what is now the town of Milpitas. It was the automaker's primary factory in that region from 1955 to 1983, [1] [2] replacing the Richmond Assembly facility.
Santana Row derives its name from Frank M. Santana, who served on San Jose's planning commission in the 1950s, who is also the namesake for the area's Frank M. Santana Park. The site was previously a Town and Country Village shopping center, which was the site of the first Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre from May 1977 to February 1985.
