Leroy Anderson (/ l ə ˈ r ɔɪ / lə-ROY) (June 29, 1908 – May 18, 1975) was an American composer of short, light concert pieces, many of which were introduced by the Boston Pops Orchestra under the direction of Arthur Fiedler.
The original recordings were instrumental versions: it was first recorded in 1949 by Fiedler and the Boston Pops. [4] As a 45 rpm version issued on red vinyl, "Sleigh Ride" was a hit record on RCA Victor Red Seal and has become one of the orchestra's best-known works.
