Bear Creek is a tributary of the South Platte River in central Colorado in the United States. It begins as a small creek up in the Mount Blue Sky Wilderness in Summit Lake and makes its way through Evergreen, CO, Kittredge, CO, Idledale, CO and Morrison, CO before entering Bear Creek Lake Park, managed by the City of Lakewood, Colorado.
Access is from Bear Creek Trail which continues along abandoned and mostly overgrown mine routes. Cable reels and other mining artifacts are frequent along the trail and in the surrounding areas of the lake. [4] Lake Kanim is a short distance north over Canoe Peak towards Lennox Mountain, and Paradise Lakes are west of Bear Lakes.

It is a recreational and camping facility that surrounds an artificial 40-acre (16 ha) lake situated in the 16,000-acre (6,500 ha) Cumberland State Forest.
