The Leeds Country Way (LCW) is a circular long-distance footpath of 62 miles (100 km) around Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It is never more than 7 miles (11 km) from the city centre of Leeds, but is mainly rural with extensive views in the outlying areas of the Leeds metropolitan district .

Along the way are signs giving information about the local wildlife. The first stages of the White Rose Way follow part of the trail also before continuing to Scarborough . Some of the upper reaches of the trail are used for an annual trail running race each March/April, organised by local running club the Valley Striders. [ 1 ]
It crosses the Leeds Country Way (a former railway), and there is the B6137 to the right for Kippax. On the Garforth/Micklefield parish boundary is a roundabout with the A656 Roman Ridge. At the Boot and Shoe junction, with the former A1, there is the Esso Boot & Shoe Service Station, and the Best Western Milford Hotel. [2]
In the early 18th century the main road from Leeds to Otley ran via Burley and Cookridge and over the top of The Chevin, while the road from Leeds to Headingley was only a country lane. Wooden walkways are provided over marshy areas. It is part of the Leeds Country Way and the north end of the Meanwood Valley Trail. A lake at the southern end of the reserve, known as Paul's Pond, was formerly a fish pond belonging to the nearby Cookridge Hall estate. It is named after William Paul, who bought the estate in 1890.
