King's Highway 52, commonly referred to as Highway 52, was a provincially maintained highway located in the former Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth, now the City of Hamilton. The route began at a junction with former Highway 2 and Highway 53 near Ancaster and travelled north to Highway 5 and Highway 8 in Peters Corners.
Highway 2 and Highway 53 split southwest of Ancaster. The route of former Highway 53 began in the west at Oxford County Road 2, formerly Highway 2. From the community of Eastwood, which lies east of Woodstock, the road travelled southeast as Oxford County Road 55 and crosses Highway 403, with which there is an interchange. [5]
Between 1788 and 1793, the townships at the Head-of-the-Lake were surveyed and named. The area was first known as The Head-of-the-Lake for its location at the western end of Lake Ontario.
