The Japanese anime television series Inuyasha: The Final Act (犬夜叉 完結編, Inuyasha Kanketsu-Hen) is a direct sequel to the Inuyasha anime series and is based on the last twenty-one volumes of the Inuyasha manga series by Rumiko Takahashi, continuing where the first adaptation left off.
Inuyasha's flea yōkai servant Myoga arrives, in which Kagome learns the truth about the deaths of Toga and Izayoi, Inuyasha's real parents. Inuyasha's half-brother, Sesshomaru and his imp yōkai servant Jaken, take the revived Izayoi captive. Inuyasha collects ingredients from the dwellings of many demons. Kagome studies for the high school comprehensive exams, minding the fact that she is still sick. Inuyasha concocts a very odd medicinal cure (one that his mother made when he was a child) using the ingredients, which relieves her common cold, so Kagome can continue the exams.
Kagura and Kanna set out to recover five items that will free Kaguya from her mirror completely. Inuyasha travels to the modern era looking for Kagome, alongside her brother Sota. In town, Kagome angrily hides Inuyasha from the public in a photo booth, which Sota jokingly puts coins into, taking photos of the two as they are arguing.
Inuyasha slices Muso to pieces using the Wind Scar, unknowing that Muso can slowly reconstitutes himself. While Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango and Shippo encounter Kagura, Kagome and Kaede investigate the cave, where it is found out that Muso is headed that way as well. Muso's memory has been restored, recalling the birth of Naraku.
