Epic: The Musical (stylized as EPIC) is a nine-part series of concept albums (referred to as "sagas") with music and lyrics by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. A sung-through adaptation of Homer's Odyssey inspired by musical theater, it tells the story of Odysseus as he tries to return from Troy to Ithaca after the ten-year-long Trojan War.
Epic Soundtracks was the stage name of the British musician Kevin Paul Godfrey (23 March 1959 – 6 November 1997). [1] Born in Croydon , Surrey, [ 1 ] he was brought up in Solihull , West Midlands with his brother Adrian Nicholas Godfrey, who was known as Nikki Sudden (1956–2006).
The song itself is split in three sections. The first section is a fast-paced showcase of Jones on synthesizer (he overdubbed bass guitar or already recorded it as part of the backing track), with Robert Plant's vocals mixed down slightly underneath Jones, the drums of John Bonham and Page's guitar chord progression
The progression is also used entirely with minor chords[i-v-vii-iv (g#, d#, f#, c#)] in the middle section of Chopin's etude op. 10 no. 12. However, using the same chord type (major or minor) on all four chords causes it to feel more like a sequence of descending fourths than a bona fide chord progression.

He proceeds to tear out a chunk of a mountain and hurls it at Acis, who is crushed (literally).

The American Epic collection was conceived by director Bernard MacMahon during the ten years of research preparing the American Epic documentary series. [11] “ When we set out to make this set”, MacMahon explained “the first task was culling a representative sample of 100 tracks from that vast body of [1920s and 1930s] recordings.
An epic is not limited to the traditional medium of oral poetry, but has expanded to include modern mediums including film, theater, television shows, novels, and video games. [1] The use of epic as a genre, specifically for epic poetry, dates back millennia, all the way to the Epic of Gilgamesh, widely agreed to be the first epic. But critique ...
