So I've been using 2.5x10 scopes for sometime now on a few hunting rifles. I'm currently using a Vortex PST Gen1. The Gen2 has better glass and a locking turrent which I like. I have one on my Tikka T3 Lite in 243 with DNZ rings. Great combo. Kind of my truck gun. The other is a Ruger Predetor in 6.5CM, in a Magpul stock suppressed.
The Quigley Ford scopes come with pre-etched reticles for the factory ballistics of many of the modern hunting cartridges, slugs and even black powder. As an option, if you want to use another load, you can have a scope with a custom reticle made for your ballistics.
Several months ago, Jon Allen, Co-Founder of Tract Optics, graciously agreed to provide me with one of their Toric UHD Hunting Rifle Scopes. When discussing the review, I explained I would be checking tracking, zero retention, and return to zero. Checking those items would include drop test...
I’m putting together a lightweight, mulie/elk bolt action hunting rifle and would like to begin considering optics. FWIW, the rifle will be chambered in .308, for distances out to 400 yards and with pic rail installed will come in at under 6lbs. My current primary hunting optic is a Swarovski...

Not to open a Pandora's box but just want to get some opinions based on real life hunting experiences of fellow members. What is the best low light (especially Dawn - about 30 minutes or so before sunlight) hunting scope in your personal experiences. I had high expectations from Swarovski based...

The Zeiss scopes both had a brighter image than the all Leupold scopes on every power level. The Sightron scope at its lowest magnification range was close enough to the Zeiss scopes that there was not much of a discernable difference. However, as I turned up the power of the scopes the difference became very evident.
Trijicon Accupower 4.5-30x56 is a great scope for the money spent and even when compared to scopes costing $1K more. Awesome parallax. Low end of 4.5x is a little better than 5x and top end 30x is a LOT more than 25x so it's better all the way around
Glass my ass ! , regardless of optical quality which scopes are the most repeatable with positive and tactile turrets with a zero stop ? Please list by price , lowest to highest My thoughts are leaning toward a GEN II Viper PST for a budget combo but I'm very open to other options . Thanks !
