Is this block a tall deck or not? Some people say it is and some people say it isnt. Casting number block 10114182 heads 10114156. Theres a site roadsters.com that says it is but than some others arent really specific. Then i have talked to 2 people that have the same motors that say it is. Any one have any proof lol. got a couple peanut port 454's and thinking of putting a set of 702's on one. have single plane intake and headers with demon carb. going in SS454 pickup (clone) with 5 speed. are the 702's worth anything ?

If you have the extra money for the carb intake and MSD I think a lightweight LS could only be beat by the biggest big block.I've built many and always liked the big block but after the guy I work with installed a custom cam, intake and headers on his stock heads and lower end 6 speed 02 T/A and got 453 to the wheels I was sold on the potential especially after I seen it run at the track.
I also have a 3970010 block. It has the 010 and 020 on the back and front, so I also know it is a high tin/high nickel block. The casting date is I 3 9, so I assume it is late 69/early 70 block, and is a 4 blt main block. But what about the other #s on it. There is a big H38 on the back. what does this represent? Near the oil filter is 371 386 83 N
