I actually really like what Riot Games did with League of Legends in Arcane. The Arcane show is allowed to show beginnings and even endings of characters (as far as I'm aware), the games are just set in an indeterminable time period in between. I think Games Workshop could introduce broad strokes new ages, where things have changed with characters.
