Bowen Wildlife Management Area is a Wildlife Management Area in Prince George's County, Maryland. It was deeded by Harry L. Bowen to the state of Maryland in 1955 for $1.00. The area is 80 percent water-covered and is a popular site for waterfowl hunting and canoeing. [1]
The refuge is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, just 12 mi (19 km) south of Cambridge, Maryland in Dorchester County, and consists of over 28,000 acres (110 km 2) of freshwater impoundments, brackish tidal wetlands, open fields, and mixed evergreen and deciduous forests.
