We flew into Bettles AK and used Brooks Range Aviation for our field transport. We showed up in Bettles on Aug. 23rd and were not scheduled to fly into the bush until the 25th (Just how flight logistics worked out) As soon as we got to Bettles we were met by the pilot and he said if you guys can be ready in 3 hours I can get you out today!
Hey all, I'm starting to plan a Brooks range caribou trip for 21 or more likely 22. I have a few areas and transporters picked out. I've talked with a few transporters already and have started a rough gameplan. Right now I'm looking at mainly 2 different areas, either flying out of Kotzibue...
Bags are packed...wheels up for Fairbanks in less than 24 hrs. I'm flying in with 3 buddies to the Northern Brooks Range. This is my first trip to Alaska, and I'm sure it will be an eye-opening adventure. I hope to have lots of pics and a good story to share when we get back...

I would like to hunt an area about 150 miles outside of Bettles Alaska and am curious is to how much it will cost to fly in via bush plane.
Damon when are you hunting with Randy together. You are great hunting personality and it would be fun to watch you guys bow hunt musk ox and caribou in Greenland.
Brooks range bou! I am finally getting the chance to sit down and do a little write up on my Alaskan caribou hunt. First off it was one of the most amazing trips I have ever been on in my life and gonna be very hard to beat I think.
I have to say it was pretty darn good grub to be in the middle of nowhere basically. Coldfoot was a really neat place. We then ate real good knowing this was gonna be our last good meal for maybe a week or so and hit the road again heading to Antigun Pass and the snowy brooks range. Here is a pic of the pass and how it appeared when we started ...
