Brenham (/ ˈ b r ɛ n əm / BREH-nəm) is a city in east-central Texas, United States, and the county seat of Washington County, [7] with a population of 17,369 according to the 2020 U.S. census. Brenham is also known for its annual German heritage festival that takes place each May called Maifest, similar to Volksfest. [8]
The City of Brenham began construction on the Brenham Municipal Airport in 1964, building a basic runway, apron, and taxiway. Thanks to further funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the city, a terminal and hangar building were added the following year.

[1] Its county seat is Brenham, which is located along U.S. Highway 290, 72 miles northwest of Houston. [2] The county was created in 1835 as a municipality of Mexico and organized as a county in 1837.
