Miller was born circa 1905 in New York City. [2] His father, Warren Hastings Miller, was an editor and author, and his mother, Susan Barse Miller, was an artist.Miller was educated at the National Academy of Design, where he was trained by Hugh Henry Breckenridge, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he was trained by Arthur Beecher Carles.
The Miller ICA supports art experimentation that expands the notions of art and culture, providing a forum for engaged conversations about creativity and innovation. The gallery produces exhibitions, projects, events, and publications with a focus on social issues, and has been supported by the Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts .
By 1909, Miller was an instructor at the Kansas City Art Institute. [7] While at the Art Institute, she was listed in two departments: metal work and jewelry. [8] By 1921, she was an art teacher at Central High School where she gained some experience as a playwright, writing a play that depicted a day in the life of Rembrandt. [9]
Scott-Miller studied art at the Slade School of Fine Art.Scott-Miller has exhibited at the Mark Jason Gallery [3] and the New English Art Club, Hunting/Observer Art Prizes, The Mall Galleries; A T Kearney; BP Portrait Award; The London Group, in the National Collection [4] and on 17 occasions at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Miller began her studies with a correspondence course from the Kansas City Art Institute. She continued her studies at the Stickney Memorial Art School in Pasadena, California, with more classes at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. [3] Miller studied sculpture, painting, and lithography at the Art Students League of New York. [3]
