The Liberty County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse located in Liberty, Texas, and serves as the official courthouse for Liberty County. Built in 1931 on the site of an earlier courthouse and expanded in 1956, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The L. V. Hightower Unit (HI) or Hightower Unit is a prison in Texas, United States, within the Texas Department of Corrections system. It is located in unincorporated Liberty County, [2] near Dayton, Texas. It is named for Lockhart V. Hightower, former sheriff and county clerk of Liberty County.
