Nagpur is surrounded by many tiger reserves and acts as a gateway, hence called Tiger capital of India. Pench National Park is a national park in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.It is part of Pench Tiger Reserve and covers an area of 758 km 2 (293 sq mi). It was declared a sanctuary in 1965, raised to the status of a national park in 1975 and enlisted as a tigers reserve in 1992.
The tourism in Nagpur is due to a large number of National Parks/Wildlife Sanctuaries surrounding Nagpur. All of these sanctuaries have Tiger as their major attractions. Two notable National Parks around Nagpur are Pench National Park around 60 km north of Nagpur, and Tadoba National Park around 180 km south of Nagpur.

Maharajbagh zoo is the central zoo of Nagpur, India. The zoo is located in the heart of the city and has been built on the garden of the Bhonsle and Maratha rulers of the city. [1] The zoo comes under the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) of India and is maintained by the Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PKV) of Nagpur.
The sanctuary is located 20 km east of Bhandara town. The nearest rail and airport head is Nagpur. Regular buses at an interval of 30 minutes are available from Bhandara Bus Stand from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm. The sanctuary is open for visitors from sunrise to sunset. There are many hotels and resorts located near Bhandara town.
