The Stompers are an American rock band formed in East Boston, Massachusetts, in 1977. The group formed after lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Sal Baglio and drummer Mark Cuccinello were joined by Stephen Gilligan on bass, and Dave Friedman on keyboards. On November 7, 1977, the band played their first show in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Joe Cicerone, Harry Booras and Rich Clements founded The Channel in 1980, [1] choosing the name because the club sat at the edge of the Fort Point Channel, which separates South Boston from the Financial District. The club was on the other side and a little south of where the Boston Tea Party took place (old Griffin's Wharf) in 1773.
In 1979, the band released "Psycho Chicken", a parody of Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer", and it was an immediate hit on Boston radio stations. [1] The group followed it up with "It's a Night for Beautiful Girls," which peaked at #67 on the Billboard charts. EMI signed the band and sent them on a U.S. tour with The Knack. [2]

Terri Brosius helped form Boston band The Vivs, where she is the keyboard player and backing vocalist. They released their debut album, "Mouth to Mouth", in 2009.
