Konaje is a locality in Mangalore generally known as the educational hub. Konaje is governed by Dakshina Kannada zilla Panchayath. It is home to the vast campus of the Mangalore University which is also known as Mangalagangothri. The university is located on hill top. P.Subramanya Yadapadithaya is the first alumni of the university to occupy the position of vice chancellor. [4] He was presented best vice chancellor award on 27 August 2022 during the second Higher Education and Innovation Summit held at New Delhi. [5] [6] He took charge at BESTIU recently in June 2024 as Vice Chancellor.
Both the colleges are affiliated to Srinivas University. The M.C.A as well as B.C.A courses are of three years duration. The minimum requirement of admission to B.C.A is 45% pass marks in a pre university course. MCA course is also offered by Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangalore. The college is affiliated to VTU Belgaum.
