HSL 4 is used by international Eurostar and ICE trains as well as domestic InterCity services. Initially, NS Hispeed (now NS International) planned using the newly ordered V250 for the fast Fyra train service between Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Due to technical problems with the model, this plan was scrapped.
Fyra International was an international high speed train service operated with V250 rolling stock between Amsterdam Centraal – Schiphol Airport – Rotterdam Centraal – Antwerp – Brussels, 10 times daily. Due to intensive problems with V250, this service only ran for forty days, between 8 December 2012 and 17 January 2013.

Thalys was created out of a political ambition formalised in October 1987 to establish a network of international high-speed railway services between the cities of Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam. The Thalys name was created in January 1995.
Together with the HSL 1 to the French border and HSL-Zuid to Amsterdam, the line has shortened journeys between Brussels, Paris and the Netherlands. HSL 4 is used by Thalys, Eurostar e320, and Intercity Direct, as well as (on weekdays only) by local and peak hour trains terminating at Noorderkempen railway station.

European Sleeper's only service between Berlin and Brussels commenced operations on 25 May 2023. [2] The service was thrice-weekly, with trains from Brussels to Berlin via Amsterdam leaving on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and trains from Berlin to Brussels via Amsterdam leaving on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
