Most schools in Kuwait are public schools which educate in the Arabic language. There are, however, a few schools which run under Indian Central Board of Secondary Education , British , American and French systems, or a combination of languages.
Lulwa Al-Qatami, in Arabic: لولوة القطامي (born 1933/34 [1]) is an activist and educator, who was the first woman from Kuwait to attend university abroad. A former director of Kuwait University and UNESCO ambassador, she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 and in 2019 was awarded the Legion of Honour for her services to education and women's empowerment.
In 1921, the Al-Ahmedia school was established, which offered English courses, and soon thereafter, an all-girls school was founded that provided education in Arabic, home economics and Islamic Studies. The college was established in 1995 in cooperation with Staff College, Camberley.On 18 August 1997, the college was named Mubarak al-Abdullah Command and Staff College in honor of Lieutenant General Mubarak Al-Abdullah, the former Chief of General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army during 1963 to 1980.

The Kuwait English School was established in 1978 by Jassim Al Saddah, who acted as the chairman of the school, alongside Rhoda Elizabeth Muhmood, as the school's director until 2022. [1] The school was originally a villa until 1984 where they established a "proper" school facility.
