Detroit Country Day School (also known as DCD, DCDS, or Country Day) is a private, secular school located in three campuses in Oakland County, in the U.S. state of Michigan, north of Detroit. The administrative offices, facility services, safety and security services, and the upper school (Grades 9-12) are situated in a campus in Beverly Hills .
The middle school opened in August 1996 with an initial enrollment of 162. The lower (elementary) school opened in 2003 and was initially in the former St. Benedict School in Waterford Township; this occurred in a time when other Catholic elementary schools in the area closed. The lower school moved to the common Pontiac campus in 2013.
It is the oldest independent school in Michigan. Founded in 1851 in Detroit, the Academy moved to its 28-acre (110,000 m 2) campus in Bloomfield Township in 1958. It is a Catholic, college-preparatory school for young women from infancy through Grade 12 and for boys from infancy through Grade 8 of many cultures and faiths.
The high school opened to 9th grade students in 2008 and students can enroll in 3 year old pre-school through 12th grade for the 2017–2018 school year.
