Amity is a town in Allegany County, New York, United States.The population was 2,185 at the 2020 census. [2] The name of the town means "friendship." The Town of Amity is near the middle of Allegany County and is northeast of Olean.
Amity is served by the Amity Station of the Pine Island Fire Department. [citation needed] The Amity Presbyterian Society was founded in 1796 [2] and, after 213 years, celebrated its last service on April 26, 2009. [3] The church, located on Newport Bridge road near Amity Road, became home to Vision Community Church until December 2010.
As of 2017, New York has 215 state parks and historic sites encompassing 350,000 acres. The agency's portfolio also includes 28 golf courses, 35 swimming pools, 67 beaches, and 18 museums and nature centers.
