Centennial High School is a public secondary school located in unincorporated Clark County, Nevada, United States, in Las Vegas. The school serves about 3000 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Clark County School District. In 2000, the movie Pay It Forward was filmed at Centennial High.
The original Las Vegas High School opened in 1905 with a tent in the city. The school made a new campus in 1930 that opened in 1931. After 62 years A new campus was made in 1992 that opened in 1993. Las Vegas Academy of the Arts: Region 2, East Pigeon: Magnet school. The school is located in the buildings of the original Las Vegas High School.
Football: The Centennial football team has won the state title in: 2018, 2017 (5A), 2015 (Div I), 2014 (Div II), 2008, 2007, and 2006 (5A Div II). [4] Softball: The Centennial girls' softball team won the state title in 2010 (5A Div II). [5] The Centennial boys' track and field team won state titles in 2004 and 2005 (4A). [6]

On January 17, 2001, northwest Las Vegas, which occupies over a third of the city's area, was unofficially given the name Centennial Hills in a contest, which won with 2,222 votes. Other proposed names for the area were Arrow Canyon with 1,784 votes, Tule Springs with 111 votes, and Cielo de Oro, chosen by Mayor Oscar Goodman, with 35 votes. [1]
