The Chesterfield County School District is a school district that governs public schools in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Since 1968, Chesterfield County has operated a single school district which now consists of two primary schools, seven elementary/intermediate schools, three middle schools, and four high schools.

Chesterfield High has won six wrestling state championships, and finished as state runners-up twice, in 2006 and 2011. Chesterfield also won the 2007, 2008, and 2009 1A Football State Championship and were runners-up in 2006. The school's rival is Cheraw High School and Central High School in Pageland.

South Carolina Highway 19 Connector (SC 19 Conn.) is a 2.040-mile (3.283 km) unsigned connector route through Trenton, via Samuel E. Diggs Road and Wise Street. Sharing a concurrency with SC 121 Conn, it has appeared on official state maps since the 1930s (possibly earlier). The routing provides a primary routing through the center of Trenton.
Chesterfield County was formerly located in South Carolina's 5th Congressional District which was one of the seats that the Democrats lost to the Republicans during the 2010 election; before the 2010 election, congressman John M. Spratt had represented the district since 1983 but was defeated 55% to 45% by Republican Mick Mulvaney in 2010.
