Hinami's mother Ryouko is killed by Mado. An angry and vengeful Touka attacks members of the CCG. She kills Kusaba and attacks Amon, but Mado intervenes, using his kagune-like quinque and wounds Touka. Kaneki tells Touka that he wants to fight the ghoul investigators, much to Touka's chagrin, and is given his mask by Uta.

Touka, Ayato and Yomo continue their battle against Arima. During their escape from the hallway, Kaneki and Hinami come across Nimura who mockingly fights Kaneki and Hinami, but is defeated quickly when Hinami pierces his chest with her kagune. Kaneki arrives just in time to save Yomo from being killed by Arima.
Kaneki walks toward the CCG, carrying Hide's body in his arms, and faces Arima to battle. The next morning, Kaneki, Hide and Amon have vanished along with the other CCG members, leaving only an unharmed Arima, most likely having won against Kaneki, leaving Kaneki's fate unknown. After the credits, it is shown that Touka has opened up a new café.
Funimation release the film on DVD and Blu-ray which included English Dubbed with voice actor Austin Tindle, Brina Palencia reprised their roles as Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima. On home video , the film's DVD and Blu-ray releases have generated sales of $121,000 in the United States.
