Rosalie Norah King Gascoigne AM (née Walker; 25 January 1917 – 25 October 1999) was a New Zealand-born Australian sculptor and assemblage artist. She showed at the Venice Biennale in 1982, becoming the first female artist to represent Australia there.
Maria Sol Escobar was born on May 22, 1930, to Venezuelan parents in Paris, France. [6] She was preceded by an elder brother, Gustavo. [6] Her father, Gustavo Hernandez Escobar, and her mother, Josefina, were from wealthy families and lived off assets from oil and real estate investments. [6]
