  2. Can I turn my coax port into an ethernet connection?

Yes, MoCA works with Xfinity. The settings are in your modem, (10.0.0.1) and you would only need one adapter. It should include a point of entry filter to attach where the cable enters the house for network security. Personally, I use a powerline ethernet adapter. It'll work fine unless you've got ancient wiring (pre-70's) or need over 100 mbit ...

106.9K Messages. @user_4117ef. If there is a live Comcast coax feed and a cable modem or a combo modem / router gateway device somewhere, and the other end of that ethernet run to that outlet is near it, you can plug it into that modem or gateway device directly and utilize the ethernet connection. You wouldn't need MoCA at all.

Rustyben. Hello, when my house was built, the electrician put in Ethernet jacks in the living room, but not coaxial jacks. We can only use the Xi6 WiFi boxes because of this. 7. New Outlet, MoCA, 2nd router? I'm so confused.

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/new-outlet-moca-2nd-router...

Where ever there is a coaxial outlet, one can connect a MoCA adapter to it. The coaxial outlet needs to be active. I purchased ScreenBeam Bonded MoCA 2.5 adapter for the highest speed internet, ethernet over coax cables. In order for the MoCA adapter to work, your modem/router needs to be MoCA compatible.

With that, you would have a cord from the modem to the router and then one from the router to the TV. As long as you are using a good quality ethernet cable you could have a great connection. If needed in some cases we are able to activate/install a new coax outlet to relocate the modem into a different room if you do not already have one ...

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/coax-to-ethernet-for-new...

What is the router's model number? Coax cable needs to connect to a modem or a combination modem/router gateway device. If your router is the stand alone type with only Ethernet connectors, you need to add a modem between the coax line and the router. forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/using-two-2-internet-cable...

i resorted to an ethernet over power from best buy, but just realized my pc doesnt have an ethernet port, maybe a usb ethernet adapter would do me good. Another option i was thinking is maybe getting an ethernet coax adapter and connecting the first modem router to the second, if that would work.
