Walburg, originally called Concordia, is an unincorporated area located at the crossroads of Farm to Market Road 972 (FM 972) and Farm to Market Road 1105 (FM 1105) in Williamson County, Texas, United States, thirty-three miles northeast of Austin. [1] Walburg is a Texas German settlement named for the birthplace of one of its founders. [2]
It runs from I-35 north of Georgetown east via Walburg to SH 95 north of Granger. FM 972 was designated on November 23, 1948, from US 81 (now I-35) north of Georgetown via Walburg to a road intersection east of Walburg, for a total distance of 5.0 miles (8.0 km). On October 31, 1958, the road was extended east to Granger.

The southern terminus of SH 95 is in Lavaca County at US 77 Alt. along the northern edge of Yoakum.The roadway continues south from this point as FM 3475.
