This is a list of colleges and universities operated or sponsored by Baptist organizations. Many of these organizations are members of the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities (IABCU), which has 47 member schools in 16 states, including 44 colleges and universities, 2 Bible schools, and 1 theological seminary.
In 1968, UBBTS became a Bible and junior Christian liberal arts college, and in 1970 the name was changed to Atlantic Baptist College (ABC). [2] A sustained campaign to expand the school's faculty and improve the level of education resulted in ABC being able to grant full Bachelor of Arts degrees in 1983. [ 3 ]
The first president of the college was Dr. G. Arthur Woolsey, a Baptist Bible Seminary graduate. The college merged with Piedmont International University in 2003, and PIU's Spurgeon School of Online Education was created as a result of the merger. [17]
