Trek Bicycle Corporation is a bicycle, cycling product and electric motorcycle [3] manufacturer and distributor under brand names Trek, Electra Bicycle Company, Bontrager, and Diamant Bikes. The company has previously manufactured bikes under the Gary Fisher , LeMond Racing Cycles , Klein , and Villiger Bikes brand names.

Keith Bontrager (/ b ɒ n ˈ t r eɪ ɡ ər /; born December 18, 1954) is a motorcycle racer [1] who became a pioneer in the development of the modern mountain bike. Between 1980 and 1995, he was president of his own Bontrager Company , which continues to develop components for Trek Bicycle Corporation after Trek bought out Bontrager.
The "Bell Helmet Company" was established as a division of Bell Auto Parts in 1956. [2] Bell introduced its Star model, the first full-face motorcycle helmet on the market, in 1968. [4] In 1971, Bell produced the first full-face off-road motorcycle helmet. [5] Bell made its first production helmet in 1954.
The bicycle helmet arm of Bell was split off in 1991 as Bell Sports Inc., having completely overtaken the motorcycle and motorsports helmet business. The first commercially successful purpose-designed bicycle helmet was the Bell Biker, a polystyrene-lined hard shell released in 1975.
1986: Kestrel's first bicycle, the Kestrel 4000 road bike, is released, featuring all-carbon, fully aerodynamic frame design; 1986: Kestrel is the first in the industry to introduce bladder-molded monocoque carbon structures. 1988: The company unveils the "Nitro" full-suspension mountain bike after collaboration with Keith Bontrager
