  2. Pros and Cons of Carbon Fiber handle/scales - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/pros-and-cons-of-carbon-fiber-handle-scales.1212072

Messages. 615. Aug 22, 2014. #3. Pros: Lightweight. Looks cool, and is often admired by non-knife people. Many different ways to finish it - roughed up, polished, etc. Wears fairly well, though it doesn't generally look better with wear the way titanium does (IMO). Feels "warmer" than Ti does when it's cold outside.

  3. Handles: Titanium vs Stainless vs G-10 vs Micarta -...

The carbon fiber is nice but I got the knives based on the steel not the material (s90v manix and yojimbo). i have to say it's a tie between g 10 and frn. I love the way the frn feels and I dive a lot and always have a h1 spyderhawk and modded h1 Atlantic salt clipped to my bcd.

  4. Carbon fiber bugout vs mini freek? - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/carbon-fiber-bugout-vs-mini-freek.1787946

Bugout is pretty skinny, and Mini Freek is a bit chubby but more cramped to grip, even with medium sized hands. The Freek blade has an effective jimped ramp, but the Bugout is usefully longer and thinner, if you want a slicer. If you’re seriously considering the 565-1, but aren't hooked on S90V and colored aluminum, take a look at the very ...

  5. G10 vs Carbon Fiber strength- Is there a definitive answer?

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/g10-vs-carbon-fiber-strength-is-there-a-definitive...

Messages. 655. Sep 29, 2022. #2. I'm no expert by any means. But both are made of layers of fiber (glass fibers for g10, and carbon fibers for CF) then layered and mixed with resin/epoxy and cured under high pressure. So just based off numbers CF threads are much stronger that glass thread. .

  9. G10 vs Carbon Fiber strength- Is there a definitive answer?

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/g10-vs-carbon-fiber-strength-is-there-a-definitive...

I used to fabricate both carbon fiber and G10 replacement scales for Sebenzas years before CRK offered their c/f scales. All things being equal, it seemed to me that c/f might have been a tad bit stiffer than G10. But not by much. Spec'd out at .150 thick, both are adequate to use on a frame...

  10. Benchmade Bugout advice - BladeForums.com

Titanium or aluminum make a difference in the feeling to the extent that I have one grivory and one Titanium version each and don't feel they are duplicates if that makes sense. I do not have a carbon fiber version, I only have a 940 - 1 with the carbon fiber, however it's pretty strong stuff man and definitely adds a ton of rigidity.

  11. Mini Crooked River or Super Freek? | BladeForums.com

I'm getting back into Benchmades after a hiatus. Previous BM was a North Fork. I think I like the carbon fiber mini freek as a smaller EDC, but was considering a 2nd for when I want something larger, either the mini crooked river (custom black G10) or the Super Freek. I just do general EDC tasks plus occasional use when working on renovation etc.
