The Ferndale Library and Affirmations cohost a social club/book club for kids in grades 4-8, meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 6:00 pm in the library's program room. This is a social hour with a book discussion included.
The Ferndale Public Library formally opened in November 1930. Displacing City offices in the former Central School at 130 Nine Mile Rd., just east of Woodward, the new library that first day had some 2,000 volumes, plus 200 loaned by the State Library. 1 (The building later housed the Ferndale Board of Education and is now privately owned.)
Study Rooms. We have two small study rooms for private, quiet study and for meetings by small groups. A maximum of eight people may use a study room at a given time. Individuals or groups may reserve the room one day ahead of time or on the day of desired use.
